The Power of AI in Aged Care: Webinar insights
Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming aged care, presenting significant opportunities as technology reshapes the industry at unprecedented speed. Recently, Mable's Chief Analytics Officer, Paul Wainwright, and Head of Business Partnerships, Luke van Schie, hosted a webinar exploring how AI is already improving outcomes for older Australians and aged care providers. Below are some of the key insights from their conversation about how AI can support your organisation. AI that keeps customers safe at scale One of the most powerful applications of AI in aged care is about safety. Aged care provider HomeMade , which is part of the same group as Mable, gets approximately 1,200 shift notes daily from support workers on Mable. These notes provide vital information about client wellbeing and have enabled HomeMade to review them and intervene quickly. With Mable's AI solution analysing shift notes, it can identify patterns across a client's entire history that might indicate warning sig

Our aim is to ensure all issues are handled fairly, consistently, and in line with Mable's policies." What is your role, and what does a typical day look like for you? Key differences between the Support at Home and Home Care Package programs
The Support at Home program is launching on 1 November 2025, replacing the current Home Care Package (HCP) program. This marks a major shift in the way aged care is delivered in Australia, and it comes with several changes that older people and their loved ones should understand. In this article, we'll explore the main differences between Home Care Packages and the incoming Support at Home program.* A single assessment process Home Care Package Assessments were previously managed by different organisations, including Regional Assessment Services (RAS), Aged Care Assessment Teams (ACATs), and independent assessors. Older people typically began with an ACAT assessment by one team, and may have had multiple assessors as their needs changed. When the default housing options don't feel right, what comes next?
Working together to uncover better-fitting housing and support options This article was written by Libby Ellis, lead consultant at Mable Home and Living Consultants. With over 25 years experience in the disability sector, Libby has helped hundreds of people navigate systems and funding to achieve their goals. I've spoken with many Support Coordinators who think beyond traditional options about housing and support for their clients. They're asking questions about how to move past system-driven models that don't quite fit. It's common to hear, "The person doesn't want a group home, and I don't think it is the right option—but it's very difficult to achieve something else." This is a real challenge in the sector, and it is part of the reason we set up the Home and Living Consultancy at Mable . A lot of people are ready—but stuck The clients we work with often reach a point where they want something different and don't feel like things are working as they should. Sometimes, this is promp
Occupational therapy and autism: Practical support for everyday life
A note on language: At Mable, we use identity‑first language when referring to autism and autistic people. We've made this decision based on feedback from our community. We understand different people have different preferences, and we recognise and respect every individual's right to choose how their identity is described. If your child or young person is autistic, an occupational therapist (OT) is often an important part of their support team. OTs look at the everyday things kids do from getting dressed, eating breakfast or joining a game in the playground to help find practical ways to make each activity easier and more enjoyable. By focusing on a child's strengths and interests, an OT helps build skills and confidence so they can take part in family, school and community life. To learn more, the Leap in! team spoke with experienced paediatric OT Taryn Lalic about proven approaches, simple at‑home ideas and the role independent support workers can play in reinforcing these strat

How to set yourself up for success with Coordinator and Provider managed clients
Did you know almost 30% of clients on Mable are managed by a coordinator or a provider? These third-party professionals use Business Solutions by Mable to connect their clients with independent support workers like you. While it doesn't change the way you support your clients, it does mean that you are likely to interact with coordinators and providers when using the Mable platform. Understanding the role of Coordinators and Providers One of the roles of NDIS Coordinators and Aged Care Providers is to connect their clients with support. Coordinators and providers can search for support workers in their client's local area or post a job ad on Mable. They can then shortlist workers and message them to discuss the services, negotiate rates and create an agreement with the worker to start the client's support sessions. Coordinators and NDIS or Aged Care Providers manage a lot of clients. Which means that, if they are pleased with your services, there's an opportunity to grow your hours b
